Dax Billingsley of Lynn is a three- sport student athlete who exudes humility. Although he is in the top of his class and has received recognition for numerous sports achievements, he is most proud of his involvement with his local Challenger Little League. Founded in 1989, the Challenger Division is an adaptive baseball program for individuals with physical and intellectual challenges. Since the age of ten, Dax has volunteered with the Challenger League and encouraged many of his friends to do the same. In his role as a “buddy” he has learned to see participants as individuals with different abilities rather than disabilities. Dax is now a coach within the organization and considers it his mission to recruit more volunteers to share in this rewarding experience. It is our pleasure to recognize Dax’s dedication and we wish him the best as he continues his education at Rivers University this fall.
