2012 Recipient

Alix attended the Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership Program as a sophomore at Hamilton-Wenham High School. Alix states, “This leadership program influenced my drive to help others and my hopes to positively influence the world.” She has volunteered at the Special Olympics, Jimmy Fund, and the Acord Food Pantry. When Alix was nine years old, she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. This life changing experience led her to volunteer at Camp Sunshine, a retreat for children with life threatening illnesses and their families . As team leader for the Light the Night Walk for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Alix recruited participants and successfully raising over $2000 in the past three years. “ Giving back to the community has become such a prominent part of my life,” Alix says. We are proud to award Alix a Mark Bavis Leadership Scholarship and know that she will make a positive influence on the world. Alix is attending Saint Michael’s College in September.
