Stephanie Duperre

2010 Recipient

It is fitting that Stephanie’s high school, Wilbraham and Monson Academy, is known as “The Global School”.  Last summer she went to Brazil with classmates to spend time with and try to better the living conditions of the Xavante, a starving Indian Tribe.  This tribe battles deplorable living conditions, poverty and starvation on a daily basis. Stephanie states that interacting with the children of this tribe was emotional yet extremely rewarding.

Stephanie has participated in the Relay for Life, a fundraising effort that raises money for cancer research, for the past 3 years.  This is a cause close to her heart, having lost her Dad 5 years ago to this disease.  Stephanie always tries to project a positive attitude.  She enjoys participating
