Aliza-Exler

2014 Recipient

Aliza Exler of Brookline gives back to her community in a variety of ways. She mentors an eleven year old girl as part of the Big Sister program, visits a local nursing home weekly and baby-sits siblings of patients in Boston hospitals so their parents can meet with doctors and spend time with their child that is undergoing treatment. Not only does Aliza give her time and energy to well established service agencies in the Boston area, but also, when she sees a void she takes action. She started the first Boston chapter of Chill Zone. This non-profit provides kids with a place to relax, be themselves and make new friends. Chill Zone provides a positive environment with peer leaders to do crafts, play and have discussions about making good choices and doing the right thing. We are so proud of Eliza and wish her the best as she brings her compassionate spirit to Excelsior College this fall.
